F. Extension

zero articles. Then post it to fadlyazhar57@gmail.com on Thursday, 5 November

Articles (a, an, the) is a word that is used to limit the meaning of a noun or it
could mean a word that determines whether a noun is specific or not. Article is
divided into two kinds, namely definite and indefinite. In addition, there are also
words that do not require article or commonly called zero article. The definite
article (the) is used in a specific case, usually it is used before countable noun or
uncountable noun. For example : “I think I’m going to take the bus to school
today”. The indefinite articles (a, an) were used in a non-specific case, usually it is
used before singular countable noun. Article ‘a’ is used before a noun that starts
with a consonant while article ‘an’ is used before a noun that starts with a vowel.
For example, “He’s reading a book right now” or “We are looking for an
apartement”. The zero article means that no articles (a, an, the) needs to be used for
a noun. For example, “Can you speak Japanese?”.
