Students, parents, and anyone else who may have stumbled on to this audio, good
morning and welcome to today episode of Mr. Phillips Rambles. Obviously, I am your host Mr.
Phillips, and I am here to tell you any random topic about physics. Without further ado lets get
into things today because today we are talking about Newton’s 3rd Law of motion which states
that for each action there is an equal and opposite reaction. What this essentially means, let’s say
you are standing in a boat, and for those of you who have done this you may understand what is
about to happen, but needless to say. Let us say you are standing in a boat and you are trying to
get off the boat on to a dock. To get off the boat you have to apply a force when you are stepping
off the boat to move yourself forward to get on the dock. Now, when you do this you are also
applying a force on the boat and since the boat is on the water it drifts away. So, whenever you
get on the dock you turn around and the boat is drifting away from the dock and again this is the
way we show Newton’s 3rd law. Because you are applying an action to get off the boat and once
you do that the boat is receiving the action and floating away. That is all the time we have today
on Mr. Phillips rambles thank you for tuning in.
