Based on the result analysis of the researchers using the morphological tree these are the organisms

belonged in the monophyletic group Phoronid +brachiopoda + Deuterostomia + Ecdysozoa +

plathyhelminthes + syndermata + mollusca + Lobato-cerebromorphat +echimura +Annelida (excluding
myzotomes). In the morphological tree that the researchers did there were 14 characters that are
“unknown” and “inapplicable” for myzostomida. In a Phylum level sample a long branch taxon seen in
fig. 4 represents myzostoma. Also, in this figure it is also shown that in any reduced trees myzostomes
are never in the group of eutiploblast clade. In plytozoan sample it showed that the clusters of
myzostoma are related group of symbion and by the myzostoma attraction phyllodocids are forced.

In this study, the researchers conclude that finding any specific annelid-mysotome that are
similar is very difficult. Myzotome show a complex mixture of annelid-like basal, spiralian and
plytozoan/syndermate character. According to the systematic implications of the researchers, figure 6
best supported the close relationship of cycliophorans, myzostomes and syndermates that represents
the hypothesis. That’s why the researchers proposed the new node-based name Prosomastogozoa
(=”forward flagellar animals.”)
