About I am a fashion product development student that looks at the world through
the dual prism of a scientist and comic book nerd. Growing up in the middle
Me
United States, I sought pragmatic approaches to solving problems big and
small, striving to find innovation through art and science. Growing up with a
family that traveled, I learned to see the intersection of art and science in
every new place we explored. Growing up as the “younger sister,” I learned the
fine art and importance of effectively communicating my ideas, often
vigorously. These experiences have and will continue to inform my approach
to the art and science of my craft.

Journalism
Focused on advertising products and
learning who your target market is, this
core skill set forms the basis for successful
product development.
Editor’s Picks
Fashion Journalism
An Editor’s Pick is trending concepts or items in the market place as seen by the editor of
the publication . These pages are useful for documenting current or emerging trends in
the market place in the target dempgraphic for the publication.
This project was created during quarantine and so I chose products and trends that
were relevant to women around my age who were stuck at home.
Target Market Analysis
Fashion Journalism
Target Market Analysis as presented here attempts to find the correct demographic that
will be the focus of the product development effort. It focuses on age, gender,
occupation, lifestyle and merges all of them into a single target market.
In this project, our concept was to target athletic young women who are health
oriented. This focused development efforts to that particular demographic.

Product
Development
The core of my work in the Product Develop-
ment track at Mizzou has focused on the vari-
ous tools and concepts used in developing
products for the marketplace. As a result, my
portfolio is heavily weighted toward these
work products.

Line Sheets are used to communicate with the manufacturer critical informa-
tion for the prodution, materials, sizing and packaging for the line being
produced. It is one of several documents that accompany contractual
information that determine the specifics of production.
This specific project used standard sizing for the US market.

Branding
I chose the look and aesthetic of my branding
based on my appreciation of the “Pop-Art” era
as epitomized by the late Andy Warhol. The
choices are also a riff on the initals in “Lindsay
Selman Design” -- “LSD” and the trippy, color-
ful palette that might have come from the 70’s
when the drug was popular.
