Domestic violence remains a major issue in today’s society. It is physically and
emotionally scarring for anyone involved and as a result could generate multiple negative
impacts especially in children and the partner.

Thesis Statement

and childhood experience and its consequences which include ignorance towards cultural
norms, emotional distress and behavioral problems.

2. Developmental Paragraphs
PARAGRAPH 1

Topic Sentence 1:
The first cause of domestic violence is lack of education which leads to ignorance
towards cultural norms.

Supporting Detail 1:
Girls with less education are more likely to indulge in a toxic relationship as they are not
equipped with basic knowledge of human rights.

Explanation:
Due to their lack of education, they often question their self-worth and feel inferior about
themselves.

Example:
The act of domestic violence takes place when women are clueless when it comes to
standing up for themselves whereas husbands feel superior about themselves and have the
needs to use violence as a form of power and conquer.

Supporting Detail 2:
As a result, victims are forced to stay in the relationship for the sake of fulfilling
irrelevant cultural norms which are no longer needed in the modern days.

Explanation:
This is due to the fact that uneducated women believe that they are economically less
productive and they are inferior in position to their husbands.
Example:
For example, they may not have a way to support themselves which puts them in a place
where they have to stay in the toxic relationship.

Concluding Sentence:
A holistic approach in education is required in order to end domestic violence.

distress in children.

aggressive.

It is a constant source of negative emotions to the point that miscommunication happens
and domestic violence is more likely to occur.

Abusers might have excessive needs to control everything which results to physical abuse
to vent out their anger rather than communicating directly with each other.

Supporting Detail 2:
As a consequence, children will have to endure the pain of watching their loved ones
batter.

Explanation:
Experiencing household dysfunction does not necessarily involve being physically abuse
by parents to leave a scar in one’s soul, children can also feel powerless just by simply
witnessing their parents suffer.

tune into other people’s feelings and suppress their own.

It is important to tackle the root of household dysfunction to end domestic violence.
BODY PARAGRAPH 3

Topic Sentence 3:
Moreover, childhood experience is also a cause of domestic violence which leads to
behavioral problems.

Supporting Detail 1:
Childhood experience leaves various forms of negative impacts in one’s life as it is a
never ending chain of domestic violence.

Explanation:
This is due to the fact that people tend to develop their own parenting style by the way
they were raised as a child.

Example:
Domestic violence begins to occur as the cycle repeats itself in various forms of parenting
styles such as justifying negative behaviors and violence is often used as a way to
maintain control.

Supporting Detail 2:
Resultantly, children who live in homes where there is domestic violence are often
dominated by fear and picking up their parents’ traits is seen as a defense mechanism.

Explanation:
They tend to act aggressively when it comes to seeking for attention due to the lack of
reassurance their parents failed to provide.

Example:
For instance, children may exhibit negative traits such as seeing violence as an effective
way to resolve conflicts just like their parents did and repeat the cycle when they become
parents.

Concluding Sentence:
The chain cannot be broken unless they learn from their past and form a new healthy
parenting style in the future.
