Course Title:​ Organic Chemistry


Credit Units:​ 3 units lecture, 2 units laboratory
Contact Hours:​ 6 hours lecture/week, 12 hours laboratory/week
Prerequisite: ​None
Course Placement:​ Second year, 1st Semester
Course Description: ​This course is designed to offer the students basic concepts and
principles of organic chemistry. It will help students understand the chemical nature of
living organisms and the different organic molecules and compounds. Further, the
course discusses the concepts of carbon atoms and the various compounds it forms like
hydrocarbons and hydrocarbons derivatives used both in industries, cosmetics,
medicines and many other applications.
