1. INTRODUCTION

This journal used three dimensional video analysis method to test the forehand
stroke of the ATP player, Karen Khachanov. Kinematic data obtained in competition
was the basis of the kinematics analysis and description of the forehand movement
model. The author of this journal is Chuanjia Du, Jihe Zhou and Shuai Wang. The
journal being publish at Chengdu Sports Institute. In all techniques, forehand stroke
is the most used techniques in tennis with more than 70% usage. Therefore, the
study of forehand technique is very important.

2. MAIN CONTENT

Russian tennis star, Karen Khachanov won the under 18 European Championship in
July 2013. He also won the singles match champion in the international ATP250
Chengdu Open 2016. Three dimensional video analysis were used in the
international ATP250 Chengdu Open 2016 to shoot Karen Khachanov technique
movements. The axis of the two cameras is about 50 degree. The selected videos
was the last forehand stroke in the 2 nd point of the first games. Inputting the selected
video part. Choosing the Dempster manikin. In the meantime, adding the racket
session for the study. Using the step by step analysis method and the low pass filter
to smoothing process to point data and get the results.

3. DISCUSSION

There are 3 stages in analysis of the strokes.

1. The backswing stages – the backswing stage means the process that the player
is prepared and backswing. Under the non force circumstances, the player will
have more time to adjust the body position, and to determine the hit line to
improve the quality of return. Before adjusting the position, normally player have
the split step movement to adjust the dance and backswing.

2. The forward swing stages – the swings stages refers to the process from the
backswing to the moment to contact the ball. This is the functional action in the
forehand stroke, and it is the core action of the forehand technique. In this stage,
the players need to push off the ground to get a larger angular velocity quickly,
driving the hitting arm to finnish the stroke.

3. The follow through stages – follow through means follow the previous action,
make sure you finish al the movements and take the racket through the body to
the sideways. The follow through stages refers to the process from the moment
of contact the ball to the end of the follow through action. This action is also one
of the essential stage in the forehand.
4. CONCLUSION

At the end of the preparation, Karen Khachanov's hips, knees, ankles joints were
bent and bent similar size, body control was more stable; compared to the height of
normal anatomical body, his center of gravity height was lowered 0.28m, body center
of gravity kept a low position, ready for the back position. the articulation of the joint
arm was more fully and the waving radius was larger. From his hips, knees, ankles
angle can be seen, Karen Khachanov's right lower limb flexion was more obviously,
the right leg from the main support role for the next stage of the leg to establish the
basis for rotated his hip. respectively. through the data with the video recording, we
can see that during the stroke process, Karen Khachanov controlled the starting point
was more appropriate. he rotated his hips adequately. the right shoulder, the right
elbow, the right wrist joint and the head speed respectively. At the end of the follow-
through, Karen Khachanov's lower limb joints were still bent, the center of gravity
height was 0.97m, the body control is smooth.

5. REAL WORLD IMPLICATION

Exploring the action mode and characteristics from him to provide a reference for all
tennis learners to improve their forehand stroke. The result show that, at the end of
the preparation, Khachanov center of gravity was lower, and his body control was
steady. After the follow through, each joint of Khachanov racquet arm were stretched,
so the swing radius is larger. His right leg was like a support point for the next stages.
At the swing stages, the move of his driving leg and rotating hip was full, so the
whole hitting action match the principle whipping technique movement. The style
follow through was natural, coordinated and smooth. After hitting the ball, his body of
control was steady, the shoulder movement was obvious, and the hitting was fast
and powerfull. The forehand stroke of Karen Khachanov was a high quality hitting
action, and its worthy of tennis players to learn from.
