It’s a phrase that introduces an expression of regret or


failure.

Eg. -Bill: Try as I may, I cannot get this thing put together
right.

-Andy: Did you read the instructions?

Try as + subj.pronoun + may/might, + negative clause

Make sentences:

-It is so difficult for him to fix the car

-We don’t have money to travel abroad

-Emily failed to pass the exam

-Mum and dad still pay the rent, do not have money for
their own flat

-The farmers collected very few vegetables this year

-John still has that old car
