eScience and Digital Libraries
eScience is where data sciences meet the science. It
is all about the data sciences as applied to scientific
research.Described as the Fourth Paradigm in data
intensive research and discovery by Jim Grey, the
ACM Turing Award recipient scientist, eScience has
emerged as supporting discipline to research and
data management in all disciplines. In simple terms,
eScience is a congruence of four domains --
scientific research, computational sciences, data
sciences and digital libraries -- that promotes data
intensive collaborative research across scientific
disciplines and communities.
