Article #1

Business ethics form the foundations of a successful business person, and several

factors impact unethical behaviors among business people. In the article Factors Influencing

the Unethical Behavior of Business People, Adam Boes (2015) explores the connection

between long-term and short-term business goals and the probabilities of business persons

showing unethical behaviors. The author indicated that there was little research on how

different personality traits and perceptions of others influence unethical behavior. While most

studies focus on the business entity when discussing business ethics, Boes (2015) takes a

different perspective by focusing on individual business persons, and how it helps the

business as a whole to protect themselves from factors that contribute towards an unethical

business practice.

For another time, I have realized that a business based on ethical behaviors is most

likely to succeed in their operations. This implies that setting goals that do not align with the

business abilities to meet the objectives are unethical because the possibility of unethical

practices towards achieving the short-term and long-term goals is very high. Based on the

study findings, there is need for the business persons, such administrators and managers to set

the ethical tone of their institutions to protect them from issues related to unethical practices

because the culture set puts in place a frame from within everyone works, and the results are

the prevention of business practice. The article makes an important call for every professional

in the corporate field to explore comprehensive solutions beyond the normal ones and employ

ethical personal and professional behaviors like courage, honesty, integrity, empathy, and the

ability to deliver one's obligations and accountabilities directly. That way, businesses will

most probably achieve integrity and success because once an ethical culture has been

established, every stakeholder feels obligated to work within those frames.

Article #2

The article Governance: Ethical Awareness And Leadership Are Essential Elements

In The Post-crisis Period by Christiane Brizard, Danielle Ferron and Guillaume François

Larouche, published in 2020 is an example of an investigative and explorative study that is

based on the current issues and how ethical leadership can be used to create an era that

supports wellness sand sustainability. Focused on the current coronavirus pandemic and other

related crises, the authors opine that ethical awareness and leadership can lead to a resilient

society that is ready to embattle any crisis. Leadership is characterized by delivering the

social responsibilities that the followers expect from them. Organizations, as the trio

observed, will have to cope with future crises, apart from participating in creating a more

resilient society and rebuilding based on a new vision of the world. Business administrators

will be mandated to establish liberation, courage, concern for the wellbeing of their

employees and other stakeholders, and focus on improving integrity, rigor, and transparency.

Leaders will also have to live up to their words, through consistency in their actions after the

COVID-19 crisis.

From the article, I have realized that ethics does not only apply to business

organizations as they attempt to grow their business productivity and success in terms of

increasing profitability. It also concerns designing resilient measures and maintaining

consistency in what they promise their employees. For instance, the current COVID-19

pandemic has shown the organizational leaders and companies that care about the wellbeing

of their employees through the provision of safe working conditions, or, even continue

offering their workers benefits such as advances as they stay home and continue following

the measures put in place to curb the spread of the infection. In other words, ethical

awareness and leadership need to form the foundation of business practices in the post-crisis

period. Organizations work on improving their resiliency to such events in the future.
