1. If a = -12 b = 8 and c = -10, then verify

i) a + ( b + c ) = ( a + b ) + c
ii) ax( b + c )= axb + axc
2. If the sum of three integers is -80 , two of them are -34 and 45, then find the third
integer.
3. Simplify : (-45 )x (-456) + (-45)x ( -544)
4. Subtract the sum of - 1032 and 878 from -34.
5. In a class test containing 25 questions. 5 marks are awarded for every correct and -2 marks
awarded for every incorrect answer. If David gets 15 correct and 10 incorrect answers, then
find his total marks.
6. Evaluate :| -12 | - | -12 + 9 | - 10.
7. If a = -9 , b = 6 and c = -3 then show that a ÷ (b ÷ c) ≠ (a ÷ b) ÷ c .
8. If a = -16 , b = 8 and c = 1 then show that a ÷ (b ÷ c) = (a ÷ b) ÷ c .
9. Add the product of (-16) and (-9)to the quotient of (-132) by 6.
10. Arrange in ascending order 17/24, 11/18, 7/12 , ⅚ .
11. Arrange in descending order 13/15 , 11/12, 17/20, 29/30
12. Find the perimeter and the area of a rectangle whose length is 2¾ m and breadth is ⅝ m
13. Anita bought 3 ¾ kg apples at the rate Rs120 per kg and 4 ½ kg oranges at the rate
Rs60 per kg. Find the total cost.
14. Convert i)2 ⅔ ii) 2/25 iii) 25/8 into decimals
15. Add: 7.07 , 0.77, 77.7, 7.77, 0.077.
16. Divide
i) 21.976 by 1.64 ii) 6.612 by 11.6
17. Convert into standard form
