Job Description

Responsibilities
The Finance Shared Services member plays a critical role in governance and reporting
requirements of a Direct Costs and recoveries Globally for IT COO Functions. Working closely
with the Global Businesses and Functions IT COOs and their representatives along with
Technology Finance team. The role will support the Financial Shared Services Lead with
planning, governance and reporting requirements on Accruals, recoveries, forecasting.
Facilitating the sharing and development of standard tools and best practice.

Qualification
PG - Any PG Course - Any Specialization, preference for MBA-Finance.

Experience & Skills:


Understanding Direct Costs
 Candidate has understanding of how direct costs are accounted/accrued for and its impact
on financial statements.
 Clear understanding of Procure to Pay and Accounting impact of accruals on P&L and
Balance sheet
 To understand actuals in order to drive forecasts with year-end target in focus.
 Intermediate understanding of General Ledgers and intercompany transactions.

Understanding Recoveries
 Understanding of recoveries of internal departments
 Able to correlate directs to recoveries
 Added advantage if understands HSBC HOST Technology billing system
 Participate in HOST Billing Process Improvement meetings / discussion to improve and
prevent issues in recoveries.

Financial Analysis and Insights


 Possesses a drive to analyze root cause of the issues in Accruals /Charges and Planning
process
 Comes up with the solution and can articulate the same to wider stakeholders
 Can organize and prioritize in order to manage stakeholders effectively
 Understands the Management Information tools available such as Qlik or Tableu..etc.

Specific Skills Expectations:


 Self-starter capable of delivering sometimes in ill-defined / new domains often on a virtual /
remote basis
 Preferably work experience in Shared services initiatives
 Proficiency in the financial forecasting cycle, cost accounting, vendor invoice management.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including ability to produce focused/
succinct communications/ presentations suitable for senior management
 Strong interpersonal skills - able to build effective working relationships with all levels of
management and staff in a matrix environment
 Good understanding of IT Global Operations structures, processes and objectives, ideally
with some knowledge of IT GB/GF & Transformation
 Analytical reasoning and good problem solving ability
 Hands on experience & advance MS office skill
 At least 5-6-year experience in accrual accounting and supporting Financial planning process
 At least 5-6-year experience in financial institution (preferred Banks)
