Being a midwife or nurse means something


(N) It mean s that people place their trust in us
(M) and that means everything especially when receiving care
(N) to ensure that trust is met, we have our codes of conduct, set by nursing and midwifery
board of Australia
(M) even tho we are two professions,
(N) because we share the same responsibility to those we care for, our codes of conduct
include the same principles,
(M) such as upholding all relevant laws, and a standart professional behavior that embodies
integrity, honesty, respect and compassion
(N) for those receiving care, it means they should always be at the centre of the care
provided,
(M) wich we archieve through shared decision making and always acting in a culturally safe
and respectful way.
(N) wether ensuring safe, evidence based care, maintaining everyone’s right to privacy, or
promoting good health and equal access to health services,
(M) these are all principles that must guide what we do every day, it’s our responsibility to
make sure we’re fully equipped to meet the trust place in us.
