DRILLING CONE BUTTON HOLE:

1. STARTS WITH GAGE BUTTON HOLE DRILLING AND MOVE TOWARS INNER ROW. FINALLY DRILLING
WILL HAPPEN AT HEEL.

2 COUNT EFFECTIVE NO. OF ROWS (THE ROW WHICH BUTTONS ARE TOUCHING THE HOLE BORE)
AND NO. OF BUTTONS FOR SPECIFICATION CREATION.

Procedure of Laser Cladding

Heat treatment of cones


Shot blasting
Clamp on cone OD and do laser cladd
Clamp on cone ID and do laser cladd
surfaces. Leave the specified areas w
to turn cone ID.
Button holes drilling
Button fitment
Cone ID finish turning
Laser cladding on the specified areas
to turn cone ID.

Pitching:

Example:

No. of holes to be drilled = 18

Angle between holes except 2 sets of Holes = 360 / 18.5

Angle between 2 sets of Holes = 18.5 * 1.25

1. Pitching means, increasing redial distance between a set of two


buttons of a specific row to achieve others buttons redial distance less
instead all in uniform condition.

2. Pitching is preferred for soft formation.

Difference between Conical and Blunt conical is:

R/D = 0.2 to 0.4 i Conical


R/D = 0.4 to 0.5 i Blunt Conical

Steel Tooth included angle must be 40° - 50°
