o His name was used at the beginning of a pharaohs i.e Hor-Aha

Dynasty 2

 Peribsen
o First ruler to take the name of Set rather Horus.
o Possibly due to drought in the river causing economic problems, so he may have
decided to try and satiate Seth i.e. Seth-Peribsen
 Khasekhemwy (the two powerful ones appear)
o It is believe his name was originally Khasekhem but after possibly reuniting upper
and lower egypt during a civil war in Egypt (maybe as a result of Peribsen usurping)
it became khasekhemwy.
o He used both symbols of Horus and Set
o Had a large tomb in Abydos, the last such royal tomb to be built there.
 Horus vs Set: May have been a story of these two pharaohs and a civil war.
 Set
o God of: Chaos, envy, disorder, violence.
o Lord of the red land (desert)

Nun

 A primordial watery abyss, envisaged as a oceanic abyss surrounding a bubble in which the
sphere of life is encapsulated.
 Atum (To complete or To finish)
o He is the creator
o Created himself from the abyss and sat on the first mound of land which formed
from Nun.
o He created the gods Shu and Tefnut by spitting them out of his mouth after
masturbation or sleeping with his shadow.
o Shu (emptiness or he who rises up)
 He was considered to be dry Air
