RE: Emily Barnett

It is with great pleasure I write this letter in support of Emily Barnett. I have had the
opportunity to work closely with Emily since August 2014 as her special education co-
teacher. I find her to be a dedicated teacher and a very reliable professional.

I have been in the classroom for seven years and during this time, I have co-taught with
five teachers. Emily and I have discovered a strong partnership to create an engaging
classroom for our middle school students. We were both novices and learned from one
another by having engaging conversations regarding pedagogy, student engagement, and
relevancy. Emily is always willing to allow me to be the lead teacher when I create a
lesson. She views it as “our” classroom. I am grateful to have such a supportive co-
worker.

Emily’s strongest traits include her work ethic, strong communication skills, and
commitment to education. Emily is always organized and well-prepared for her classes.
She sets high standards and expectations for every student in each of her classes. She is
always willing to adapt a lesson for students who are struggling, while still holding them
accountable. Emily is willing to take new challenges every day with her instruction to
create an outstanding classroom environment.

I am confident Emily will become an outstanding administrator with her ability of being
supportive, confident, and creative with new opportunities. My only regret will be to not
be co-teaching with her.
