Most of the expenditures of this project include technology. One of the main resources of
this project is a computer. Since this will be the first year of the project, the HP Chrome Book
will be suitable to do the main assignments and group work of the project: create a PowerPoint
and have the ability to do research on the internet. This computer is cheap enough for every
student in the classroom to have their own for that class period. After the project, these
computers can be included in day-to-day lessons that will expand on the student’s ability to use
technology and collaborate online with other students, and allow more flexibility in the lessons
the teacher curates. These computers are not to be given directly to the students unless there is
signed permission, instead they will belong to the classroom and will need to be stored in a
suitable, but also compact space. The laptop cart is a purchase necessary for the computers to be
secure, as most have safety measures and most importantly a slot for each computer to charge.
The laptop cart and the computers go on sale during Black Friday, so depending on the date of
purchase, the price is fluctuated. The computers will be portable and can be shared with other
classrooms if another teacher wants to use them for their own lesson. The last item important for
the computers to function in the project is providing a video editing software compatible with
Chrome Books, such as WeVideo, so that they can create a video advertisement for their
community event. The students do not need anything complicated such as Premiere Pro, and
WeVideo is a user-friendly introduction to crafting videos. After the project the students will be
provided with another presentation tool and be able to expand upon their creativity for
presentations or assignments.
