Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay Department of Mechanics! Engineering Course timings: ‘The industrial revolution has been possible due to the ability of humans to develop mechanisms and machinery. In this course we shall examine the basics of motion in mechanical devices and also several issues that arise during their operation. Applications of, or development of these devices would require such an understanding. The exercise begins with the construction of a few devices using commonly available material as outlined in the exercise below. EXERCISE Students are required to prepare the enclosed models using mount board. Mount Board ( NOT the same as card board) is available in all stationery shops near and within IT. The dimensions given in the enclosed sheets are all in mm, Four models are to be prepared by each student. The model rust bear the student's name as wel as Roll No, ‘You may cut the links as given in the pictures and use an Agarabathi incense stick) to make the holes for assembly. The devices should exhibit motion. Please make cam profiles and gear teeth as precise as you could, noting that the more accurate the geometry is the better would be the motion. i Mg 316 ~ Tan dole Vs Building @ Slider-crank Mechanism using MOUNT, Board. assenby, varte (Not all parts are shown!)
