Вступление:

It is widely believed among adolescents that their parents are responsible for their offenses
until they reach the age of majority. But this statement is wrong. The legislation provides
for specific cases when the legal responsibility of minors begins at the age of 16, and for
the commission of certain criminal offenses from the age of 14.

 Frankly speaking,legal responsibility is a type of social responsibility, which
consists of the application by the state to the offender of definite coercive measures
provided by the sanctions of legal norms.
 Juvenile cases are considered by juvenile commissions and courts.
 Thus,the word "responsibility" means the need to be held accountable for one's
actions

I must mention that Administrative liability is a type of legal liability that applies to an
individual who points to an administrative offense.

Criminal liability - a type of legal liability, which provides for the obligation of the
person who committed the crime, to suffer certain deprivation of personal or
property nature for the offense.

The current legislation stipulates that persons who have reached the age of 16 before
the commission of a crime are subject to criminal liability and punishment. Only for
some crimes specifically specified in the law, criminal liability can occur from 14
years.
According to Part 2 of Art. 22 of the Criminal code of Ukraine the persons who
committed crimes at the age from fourteen to sixteen years are subject to criminal

What is material liability?
It is the responsibility of the person to compensate for damage caused to another
person.
Liability for damage occurs from the age of 14, property liability is borne by
parents.

According to Article 98 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the following main types
of punishment may be applied to minors found guilty of committing a crime:

Fine
The fine applies only to minors who have independent income, own funds or
property that can be levied. The amount of the fine is set by the court depending on
the gravity of the crime and taking into account the property status of the juvenile
within the limits of five hundred non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens
established by law.

Corrective work
They can be assigned to a minor aged 16 to 18 at the place of work for a period of
two months to one year. From the earnings of a minor sentenced to correctional
labor, a deduction is made to the state revenue in the amount established by the
court, in the range from five to ten percent.

Arrest
The arrest consists of the detention of a juvenile who has reached the age of sixteen
at the time of sentencing, in conditions of isolation in specially adapted institutions
for a period of fifteen to forty-five days.

Imprisonment for a specified period.


Imprisonment for persons under the age of eighteen may not be imposed for a term
exceeding ten years, and for a particularly serious crime combined with the
intentional deprivation of life - not more than fifteen years. Juveniles sentenced to
imprisonment serve it in special educational institutions.
