ANCHOR: Thousands of DTE customers were without power on Sunday due to heavy winds
in southeast Michigan. CNW reporter Josh Jones has an update on how they
recovered.

JONES: About 225 DTE crews worked through the Sunday wind advisory to fix the
outages for 26,000 customers living near South Lyon, Westland, Saline, and the
Waterford Township area. The winds were up to 50 mph, and the major outage
occurred around 5 p.m. The advisory lasted until about 8 p.m., when the high
winds finally calmed down. However, DTE launched more crews to prepare for
other potential outages throughout the rest of the night. DTE expected most of
the outages to be back on before midnight. As for the next several days, the
winds will die down along with comfortable temperatures in the 40s. This is Josh
Jones reporting for CNW news.
