Overview
Introduction This chapter introduces operation method for alarm management:
1. Alarm management provides an information terminal for view-
ing alarms and notifications; provides a querying tool to make
querying current and history information convenient; provides
customization for knowledge base and viewing function to
make users easy to handle alarms.
2. Alarm can be differentiated and selected according to time,
severity, type, alarm code and position.
3. Alarm notification is the reported information when some
events which needs operation people to know happen.

It does not recommend to save tracing data in this way, for this
way could only save data showing in current interface. And during
tracing condition setting, the number of largest rows shown in in-
terface is configured. As a result, when tracing data's row number
exceeds this largest row number, the top rows can not be shown
any more, which means using this way to save data, saved data
might not be completed.
Use file name suffix to filter, which means to drop down file
type of above dialog box as shown in Figure 107.

Detecting Network
Network detecting mainly includes: internal module of SS or com-
munication detecting between SS and external equipment, and
NIC net interface performance statistics.
Reference:
SS provides external ports with NIC board. Ping certain ex-
ternal equipment's IP address, if this IP address can not be
reached, through following methods to check:
i. Firstly, make sure NIC board selected for Module is cor-
rect and NIC board works normally. If NIC is in fault sta-
tus , please refers to <<ZXSS10 SS1b Softswitch Control
Equipment Troubleshooting Manual>> Foreground Fault.
ii. Check NIC routing connection with hardware is correct or
not and make sure external IP address is correct.

Reference:
Internal module of SS Ping each other, if IP address can not be
reached, through following methods to check:
i. Firstly, make sure board selected for Module is correct.
Ping other boards from SC, SPC or NIC, and make sure the
boards selected work normally. If board is in fault status,
please refers to <<ZXSS10 SS1b Softswitch Control Equip-
ment Troubleshooting Manual>> Foreground Fault.
ii. Make sure internal module's IP address is correct. SS inter-
nal working IP: 168.2.x.y network segment, among which x
is shelf number, y is slot number. If this SPC is in NO. 1 shelf
NO. 11 slot, then internal communication IP is 168.2.1.11.

Reference:
NIC statistics includes: receive, send, dispatch failure and pro-
tocols distribution items, among which they have their own
contents especial error byte number, through following meth-
ods to check:
i. Firstly, confirm NIC board status and to see if there are any
untreated critical warnings to cause error code.
