Digital Class Quiz

So I like the idea of students doing as much of the thinking and work as possible. I
think if they come up with a quiz for each other it's much more effective than if I try
to come up with one for them. They will be picking out the details at their general
level, and they will be challenging each other as much as possible. Also I think the
friendly competitiveness creates an encouraging atmosphere in which students get
social credit for challenging questions.
ELA (Although this could work for any chapter reading in Science or History)
Digital Class Quiz (Quizlet and Kahoot).

Before
Introduce the objective of the digital quiz at the start of the reading session.
"While we read today, we need to be looking at the chapter with the purpose of
forming a quiz question for our class quiz game. Each team will need 6 questions
(Who, what, when, where, why, how). We will build our quiz at the end of class, so if
you have an idea while we're reading jot it down or put a sticky note on the page."

During
Check to see if students are using sticky notes during reading. Pause read aloud and
prompt some thinking. Remind students to jot down any ideas for questions.

After
Last 20 minutes of class: 15 minutes to form questions and input them to the class
quizlet. Circle the room and check in on questions and their given answers. Students
must cite their page number. Encourage them to really be challenging on each other
and ask difficult and tricky questions.
-allow students to edit the quizlet for the class. The quiz card set will have a question
on one side and an answer with citation on the other. Have them double check each
other's questions in the group for grammar and clarity so we get the best version of
your question on the quiz. Quizlet will be available for the novel study final. Teacher
will build a Kahoot using the students' questions to play as a review before the next
reading section, or for the next class is that is possible.
