Formative Assessment Tool For my formative assessment tool I choose to create a popplet. My particular example is mainly focused for a formative assessment at the start of a new unit. I would have students work in small groups and add onto the popplet I created. This would give me an idea of what the students already know entering into the unit and if they already have an idea of why it is important/ relevant to their lives. This would also expand students knowledge of the topic prior to diving into the unit so they can follow along easier. One old school formative assessment method that I remember using in high school is having students answer a question by placing a sticky note on the board. This is still an amazing formative assessment tool and one I definitely will use in my class. A more updated version of this tool would be jam board which allows students to do this same process but on a digital whiteboard.
