Dear Parent or Guardian of: Alex Washington

The purpose of this communication is to inform you that the academic expectation of Alex is not
being met. By making you aware of these problems I hope we can work together to improve
them and ensure your child's success.

In my class, it is expected that every student be responsible for any and all absent worth to
maintain a passing grade. An easy access list is provided of missing assignments and students
are aware of how to obtain them. Students have three days to complete their worm beginning
the day after they return. Unfortunately, if
missing work is not turned in by the end of the third day students receive a zero and that affects
their average grade. I am sorry to let you know that this has been the case with Alex. He has
been absent numerous times, an issue in itself since he is
missing instructional time, and has yet to complete any of his missing work.

If we can come together and make a plan for Alex it will get him on the path to better
grades. Right now, you can help him with previous assignments and where we can set a
check-in point. He will have these next two weeks to complete everything but if you see that
Alex needs an extension after shoving effort, we can work something out.

The goal is to make sure Alex succeeds and that he knows he has a community of supporters. If
