The wet impregnation method was used for the preparation of nickel catalyst.

Alumina
supported Ni catalysts containing 13 wt % Ni was prepared by co-impregnating γ-Al2O3
with aqueous Ni(NO3)2 solution. During impregnation, the volume of the Ni(NO3)2 solution is
equal to the volume of powder. The impregnated samples were dried at room temperature
overnight, calcined under nitrogen at 550°C for 4 h, and reduced in 8 mol% H2-Ar gas flow at
350°C for 4 h.

(f) Estimate the heat requirements for the process of calcination to the preparation of 100
g of catalyst.
(g) Estimate the heat requirements for the process of reduction to the preparation of 100 g
of catalyst.
