1 Preface and General description


This technical user guide can help you with the download of Elektronikon MK5 controllers.

In general the “Speci5” program has following main functions:

• Download to controller
• Download to file
• Upload from controller
• Programming Counters

In order to use this program a licence key is necessary. This licence key can be downloaded from
the “Atlas Copco software market database” in lotus notes.
The first time you run the program, a dialog box appears, and asks for a program licence key.
Fill in the key, click “ok” to confirm and start the program, or click “cancel” to quit the program.

After entering a correct key a new dialog opens, the expiration date is shown.

When a wrong licence key is filled in, Speci5 shows the following dialog.

Click “ok” to close this dialog and try a new licence key.

2 Preparation
Before using this program the network connection needs to be configured properly.
Follow these steps:

Go to network places

Click “View Network connections”

Select the Local Area connection, which is connected to the controller.

Click with the right button and select properties

Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Click on the


properties button

Important!!!
Only the TCP/IP protocol must be selected for
this connection. When other protocols are
selected, the communication to the controller
might fail.

Use the following settings:

• IP Address 192.168.100.200
• Subnetmask 255.255.255.0
• Click “ok” and close Network
connections.

3 Splashscreen and Program settings Screen


At program start-up, a splash screen appears and automatically disappears once all the program
components and the database(s) are loaded.

4 Tab Pages

The mainscreen contains 5 tab pages:

1. Download.
2. Upload.
3. Program Settings.
4. Tools.
5. Info.

4.1 Tab: Download


4.1.1 Sub Tab: Download - Configuration

4.1.1.1 Group Box Machine


Is used to configure the machine settings.
Model: The list contains all models of the loaded database(s).
Generation: List containing all available generations of the selected model.
This combo box is rebuild and is the same width then the main screen
Serial Number: Machine serial number

Web Link button : retrieve machine configuration data from ServiceConnect. Only possible when
machine was downloaded at Airpower production facilities.
GUID: is a unique identifier assigned to the downloaded controller.
Controller: target Mk5 controller for the selected configuration
Info: information about the selected model + generation
Family: Product Family of the selected model + generation

4.1.1.2 Group Box: Display configuration.

3 main languages can be selected (+ guaranteed languages!).

Use the Units button to modify the basic units for the controller, after changing, press “ok” to confirm
and close this screen.

4.1.1.3 Group Box Info Text

By default the Atlas Copco URL is shown in the Information


screen of Graphic or Graphic+ controllers. If necessary this
information text can be changed, e.g. by local production
facilities.

Info Texts are stored in Info_Core.ic5 in the Windows directory


and consist of 4 lines of text. Click on the button Info core maker
to manage the Info Core.

Click on the button “Add”

A new dialog opens; fill in a text information


name and click “Ok” to save the name.
This name is afterwards shown in the list of
the info text group box.

To add new text to the info text dialog; Select the new name in the Info core Maker dialog.
The text lines are now active, fill in the information you want to display on the Information screen.

Click on the save button, this new information is added to the info_core.ic5 file in the windows
directory.
If a text is too long, the background color of the text box changes to pink.
The maximum text length is 310 pixels per line of text.

The changes made in Speci5 are visible in


the information screen of the controller.

Starting from the main screen:


Press the enter button on the controller and
go to the information icon.

Press enter to view the information.

4.1.1.4 Group Box Parameter Configuration

Choose the proper configuration selections from the list boxes.

The 3 buttons below this screen have the following functions:

• Download to controller: downloads the selected configuration to the connected controller.


• Download to file: downloads the selected configuration to a .cs5 file.
• Mk4 Mapping: creates Modbus and Profibus mappings for the selected configuration. To be
used when connecting Mk5 controller to Mk4 Combox-S (Modbus) or Combox-P (Profibus)
interface.

Mk4 Mapping example:

4.1.2 Sub Tab: Download - File

This screen shows a list of all cs5 files and their download configuration and information.

Below this screen is a new option “Filter field”


Is used for: filtering files to file name.

4.1.3 Sub Tab: Download - Licences


ES6 and ES6i functionality are protected by a specific licence.

Use the button Download Licence to controller to search for a valid ES4i or ES6i licence and click
download to controller

4.1.4 Sub Tab: Download - Counters

Clicking Download Counters shows a dialog with the current controller counter values and
allows you to program new counter values.

After changing the values in the New Value column and clicking “ok” the new counter
values will be downloaded to the controller. Cancel closes the dialog.

Counter values can be saved to file (explained chapter 4.2) and can later on be loaded again in
the Program Counters dialog with the button “Load Counters from file”

Button Reset Module Hours will rest module hours to zero. (Not recommended)

4.2 Tab: Upload

Use the button Controller to save the total


configuration of the connected controller in a .cs5
file.

Use the button Counters to save the counter


values of the connected controller in a .cnt file.

Address Mapping creates Modbus and Profibus


mappings for the connected controller (see
4.1.1.4)
The button Address mapping can also be found
in the following pages:
• configuration
• File

Button Service Report Excel:


This button exports the current status and values
of the connected controller to an Excel file.
In this report:
1. Machine passport
2. Controller history
3. Machine info (Machine state + Motors
VSD)
4. Counter values
5. I/O values

Button Service Report XML:


Similar, but export to an xml file

4.3 Tab: Program settings


4.3.1 Group Box DB Settings

New in Mk5: multiple databases can be loaded in Speci5. e.g. AII GA & AII Z
However, it’s not possible to load more than 1 version of the same database.
e.g. AII GA v1 & AII GA v2

A new button is placed below remove DB (DB

After clicking on this button a new screen opens.

4.3.2 Group box IP Settings

If no network card is selected, click on the button "Network Card" a new dialog appears.
Select the correct network card from the list and click on the "Ok" button.

4.3.3 Group Box Download options

Downloading of the Operating System can be forced checking Always download OS. When left
unchecked, download of the OS will only occur when necessary.
Guaranteed languages are always downloaded and the list can be easily modified by clicking

Use the checkbox before each language to add more


languages.
If desired you can check all languages by selecting all in
top of this screen, or deselecting all.

Click “Ok” to confirm.

4.4.2 Sub Tab: Remote Control


Following digital inputs are by default factory disabled :

• Remote Start/Stop
• Remote Load/Unload
• Remote Pressure Sensing

Click on the button “Activate”, to activate one of the digital inputs. Click on the button
"Download To Controller" to save the changes.
If one of the digital inputs is active this will light up in a green color.

To deactivate this digital input click on the "Deactivate" button to change this setting, and click on the
button “download to controller”.
A dialog opens en shows the download to the controller.

4.4.3 Sub Tab: Info text

The Information screen text of the connected controller can be changed by clicking the button
“Change Info Text On Controller”

Choose the proper Info Text from the list.


A preview is shown on the right side.
Click “Ok” to confirm or “Cancel” to quit.

Speci5 is downloading the new


Info Text.

When the download is completed a new dialog


opens (Download Succeeded) Click “Ok”
To close this dialog.

4.5 Tab: Info


This tab page shows the version number of this program and the release date.
Click on the button Show Manual to open the help file.

When the licence is expired a new one can be entered with the "Enter new License" button.

A new dialog screen opens, fill in the new licenses key and press "ok" to continue or cancel to quit
this action.

5 Status bar
Status bar shows the IP address of the controller, which database is in use and the selection criteria
for downloading the OS.

If you click on the IP address, a dialog pops up and you will be able to select another controller or
change the IP address.

There are two possibilities to add a


controller:

• Manually
• Scan (automatically)

When more than one controller is


shown select the controller and click
“OK” to confirm.
