Networks comparison – Wireless Gigabit Networks
The world is moving towards gigabit broadband with an immersive media consumption environment –
requiring 5G based broadband & content delivery.
Having access to infrastructure that can deliver such high speeds with integrated media delivery is
crucial!
AIR® system can deliver triple play services and speeds comparable to or even higher than newest
wireline technologies for a fraction of the cost!
LTE • Maximum BS downlink throughput at 900 MHz per sector: 18 144 Mbps
LTE modulation • Maximum throughput at end user - 75 MHz Carrier Aggregation: 378 Mbps
256 QAM
Modulation and throughput depend on eNodeB type and LTE CPE equipment
DOCSIS • Maximum BS downlink throughput at 1 000 MHz per sector: 41 378 Mbps
Docsis 3.1 modulation • Maximum throughput at end user - 192 MHz: 2 002 Mbps
4 096 QAM
Modulation and throughput depend on Docsis CMTS type and Docsis CPE equipment
AIR® – No need to lay cables for a Fiber Like Service

With the AIR® technology traditional non-incumbents can have cost effective access to high speed
broadband without large scale investments.
AIR® last mile solution
AIR® uses patented wireless technology to deliver ultra-fast broadband data over
high frequencies by using higher order modulation techniques which require line
of sight.
LoS
up to 50 km
HFC Hybrid Fiber Coax Network
A very small percentage of non-line of sight situations can be overcome with proper base station
location planning and complementary methods of broadband delivery. So no one is left in the dark.
AIR® – Perfect last mile solution
Air® offers approximately 90% lower cost compared to deployment of wireline network.
Low costs for set up, implementation and maintenance.
Low Cost
One base station can serve up to 50.000 users, limited by total throughput.
Customer indoor equipment is standard equipment offered by many vendors.
AIR® Last mile solution can be operational in much shorter time compared to
wireline deployments.
Quick Roll-out
No costly and time consuming road and construction work is needed to lay the
cables in the ground, nor building permits.
AIR® – Perfect last mile solution
AIR® system can serve customers located up to 50 km from the base station.
Line of sight enables use of newest high level modulation techniques which are a
Long Reach guarantee for exceptional service quality and user experience.
The system can be deployed in any frequency range from 2 to 42 GHz.
Unique combination of long reach and high capacity makes Air system a perfect
choice for all types of settlements.
All Areas
AIR® system can be equally effectively deployed in urban, suburban and/or rural
areas.
Low deployment costs, easy integration and low OPEX enable operators quick Return
On Investment (ROI) usually less than 3 years.
Quick ROI AIR® system offers a very good opportunity for investors and green field operators,
especially in underserved areas.
Enables „pay as you grow“ financing policy.
AIR® solution – Soutable for all operators There are four uses cases for TelCos and CableCos
to use Globtel‘s solution instead of investing in
“classical” fixed based solutions:
Mobile multi-play
Mobile multi-play Mobile operators can easily add TV offering to their fixed mobile service and
take advantage of multi-play offering.
Pay per view content - e.g. blockbusters, adult entertainment, electronic billboards
AIR other Video on demand - TV archive, personal video recording, time shifting
services Video surveilance - site monitoring, road/Traffic monitoring
Telemetry - measuring the audience of TV channels appliance monitoring
AIR® – Main facts

AIR® System – Technology
The AIR® base station and transceiver are specific solutions, but the CPE in customer homes is standard and can be
managed like business-as-usual
The base station is an essential part of the AIR® Last Mile wireless point-to-multipoint system.
It uses microwave based transmission and supports frequency bands between 2 and 42Ghz.
By using carrier aggregation it supports channel width of up to 1 000 Mhz. As a result the
throughput capacities are up to 41 Gbps per BS (DOCSIS) and 18 Gbps per BS (LTE).
The base station is connected to the operators core network and broadcasts the signal to
homes using AIR®.
The transceiver is the counter part of the base station and is located at the customer premises.
It is essentially a bi-directional parabolic microwave antenna (sattelite dish) and an outdoor
unit.
One unit is required per home, or a common unit can also service an apartment block with
multiple homes. This unit down converts the AIR® signal and feeds it into worldwide used
Docsis/LTE standard equipment inside the homes.

AIR® Management system
AIR® Management system
The AIR® system comes with a software management system for better controlling and operation the AIR devices. It
allows the operator to do remote supervision and configuration, administration and control of all network elements.

AIR® frequencies
AIR® supports FDD carrier aggregation of most bands in the 2 GHz - 42 GHz range and can handle up to 1.000 MHz
bandwidth per sector, the same spectrum can be reused 4x times in a base station
Already developed, tested and deployed AIR® frequencies (various combinations are possible):
Other frequency pairs in range between 2 and 42 GHz are also possible.
Maximum possible bandwidth on Downstream and Upstream is 450 MHz (D3.0 and LTE) and 500 MHz (D3.1).
Exact frequency pair and bandwidth must be previously confirmed by Globtel.
AIR® is futureproof
AIR development closely follows all standards evolution roadmaps to guarantee technological upgrades and investment
security.
