1.1.2 Starting the Compressor

 When you energize the compressor, the screen displays .

 When you press button to start the compressor, the operating pressure is displayed on the

screen as .
 If the pressure in the pressure line is equal to or higher than the set pressure of the compressor,

message blinks on the screen. The compressor keeps idling as long as p15 (idling time). At

the end of this period, message becomes steady and the compressor

stops. The pressure drops until the compressor stops. If the pressure drops below the set pressure the
compressor switches to load, p15 time is reset and the screen displays the operating pressure.

7
 When you press button to stop the compressor, the screen displays message, the
compressor switches to idle first and after idling for 30 seconds, the compressor stops. During 30

seconds, message blinks, the compressor can be restarted by pressing button during
this period.

 At the end of the period, "off" message becomes steady and the compressor stops. At this moment
x10 indicator starts blinking.

 The compressor cannot be restarted for p17 (safety time). At the end of the period, x10 indicator
goes off and the compressor can be restarted.

 When an alarm is emitted, the relevant alarm code is displayed on the screen.

The relevant buttons are located on the right hand side of the screen for convenience. When the screen is
displayed, press the buttons shown on the right hand side to proceed. Press the framed buttons

simultaneously. Press and hold the first one while pressing the other. Press the buttons

1.3.3 DEC 40 Operating Modes

1.3.3.1 Selection of Operating Mode

When the unit is energized, all the lights are checked by switching on for 3 seconds. Then, it switches to
STOP position, and the STOP led lights up. The compressor is started with the REMOTE START signal

(  word is displayed on screen for 5 sec) or by pressing the RUN button. If the Safety Time is not
yet over, the RUN led flashes till the time is over. When the time is over, and the output pressure is less than
the start pressure limit, the compressor starts up.

In case of an alarm condition, the compressor immediately stops with the alarm code being
displayed on the upper display. Complete list of the alarm codes is provided in 3.6.2.4.

The compressor is normally stopped by the REMOTE STOP signal (  word is displayed on

screen for 5 sec) or by pressing the STOP button.

1.3.3.2 Stop Method

STOP led starts flashing. If the compressor is loaded, the load RELAY releases, and the motor goes on
working for the Safety Time or Idle Operation Time (whichever is longer). In the meantime, you can return to

the operation mode by pressing the RUN button once again. If the STOP button is pressed once
again in the no load mode, the compressor stops immediately. The STOP led flashes till the compressor
completely stops.

If the compressor already operates in no load condition, and the STOP button is pressed, it
goes on operating till the idle working time finishes. It is possible to immediately stop the

compressor by pressing the STOP button once again.

23
1.3.3.3 Compressor Startup
If the mains voltage and frequency fall within the preset limits, and the mains phase order is correct, the
POWER Led lights up. The compressor can operate only when the POWER led is illuminated. Otherwise, it
never starts up.

If it is activated by pressing the RUN button, it is set in the Operating Position by giving a remote
START/STOP command. At this step, the unit decides to activate the compressor when the output pressure
drops below the Start Pressure Limit (or when pressure turns the switch off).

Before commissioning the compressor, the STAR relay output is activated. At the end of the Relay Switching
Time, the MAIN relay opens, whereupon the motor is switched on in the STAR switching position.

At the end of the Star Time, the STAR relay releases, and at the end of the Star/Delta Delay Time, the
DELTA relay draws.

At the end of the Load Delay Time, the LOAD relay is released for the compressor to start producing the
compressed air.

1.3.3.4 Deloading and Reloading of the Compressor

When the output pressure reaches the Stop Limit (or when the pressure opens the switch), the load relay will
release and the motor will keep on running for the motor Idling Time. If the output pressure reduces less than
the Start Pressure Limit before the time is over, the LOAD relay is reactivated.

1.3.3.5 Stop and Restart of the Compressor Depending on the Output Pressure
If the output pressure remains over the Start Pressure Limit for the Idle Operating Time (or the pressure
switch remains open), the DELTA relay releases first. At the end the Relay Switching Time, the MAIN relay
releases. In this case, the RUN led starts flashing. Set the number of max. compressor starts in 1 hour using
the Hourly Max. Start parameter. If it reaches the maximum possible number of starts, the compressor is
prevented to stop till the time for 1 hour is over, so that the motor goes on working in idle position with no
load.

1.3.4 Alarms and Warnings

The abnormalities of the compressor are classified in three different categories: warnings, service calls and
alarms. The warning is the lowest error level, and only comprises of visual warnings.

The alarms are however considered to the highest level failures, resulting in an immediate stop of the motor,
release of the alarm relay (if activated), and emitting the visual warning message. When an error occurs, the
error code is displayed on the upper display, and the related error category LED lights up.

The alarms and warnings are deleted by pushing the MENU button Emergency Stop alarms cannot be
cleared using the push buttons, the signal at the input must be removed.

The service warnings may disallow the motor operation depending on how long the service time
is exceeded.

1.3.5 Alarm History

The system has an alarm listing where the latest 9 alarms are kept. In case where a new alarm occurs, it is
added at the topmost order in the listing. The alarm listing can be displayed on the screen. The alarm listing
is not affected by the power failures. The prerequisite of adding an alarm in the list is that the subsequent
alarm should be different from the latest alarm, or the motor operated for at least 6 minutes after the latest
alarm is stored.
