A Read the article quickly. Who’s a famous person with a pet pig?

B Read the article slowly. Check your answer in Part A.

A GREAT PET

This pet isn’t small, but it’s not big. It looks a little funny,
but it’s cute. It’s pink or black with short legs. What is it?
That’s right! It’s a pig!
Pigs are interesting. There are many famous pigs. The
movie Babe is about a pig, Babe. The book Charlotte’s Web
is a book for children about a pig, Wilbur, and his best
friend, a spider. Miss Piggy is a TV star on The Muppet Show.
Pigs are very smart and gentle. They’re pretty good at
swimming, too. Sometimes they help deaf or blind people.
On farms, pigs protect other animals, but many people
don’t like pigs at all. They think pigs are messy, dirty, and
dangerous, but they’re not.
Many Americans have pigs in their homes as pets. The
singer Jessica Simpson has a pet pig. Her pig’s name is Brutus.
She likes him a lot. Are there any pet pigs in your town?
