For this vocabulary task, the instructor will use a concept formation strategy utilizing a concept

ladder activity. The lesson will begin by viewing a short video from the United Nations about the

concept of Genocide. After viewing the video, a concept ladder will be drawn on the whiteboard

and the class will begin to fill in the diagram as a group. To differentiate, the concept ladder

diagram should be shared with the students as a hard copy or through a shared Google Doc so

they can complete their own as the ladder is being completed on the whiteboard. Through this

lesson, students will develop a thorough understanding of the concept of Genocide.
