ABM FOR SUCCESS

By: Erlie B. Cabral

ABM stands for Accountancy, Business and Management. A course allowing you to
study the fundamentals of accounting and business management. This will prepare you
for your brighter future. You can get in Entrepreneurship, Banking, Accountancy,
Finance and Management. It only depends on your choice.

Im agine,
being an

accountant or an entrepreneur is the most effective way to success. Because of its

logical thinking and open-mindedness. So, it's an advantage to all Accountancy,
Business and Management (ABM) students to learn the basics about the two careers
and to experience what are they doing at work in everyday life. So, If I were you, I will
choose ABM. It will lead you to success.
PERKS OF BEING AN ABM STUDENT

Let's start with a brief description about our track. ABM has three specializations.
These are Accounting, Business, and Management.
What do those words mean?
Accounting is the measurement, processing, and communication of financial
information about economic entities. In other words, there is math here. But don't
worry, you will only be using the four basic operations! No Algebra, Geometry,
Trigonometry, or any other math subject you can think of. Next we have Business.
Business is an organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial, industrial, or
professional activities. This is one of the most popular courses. You will be able to
learn how to run your own business and communicate with different types of people.
Last but not the least, we have Management. Management is the coordination of the
activities of a business in order to achieve defined objectives. Your leadership skills are
being developed in this specific area.
So... Why should I take this track?
You don't know what you're missing! You will be able to have the opportunity to
try running your own business. Who knows, you could actually be the next Steve Jobs.
You will be able to practice proper time management. Time management is very
important most especially when you get to Senior High with all the workload you will be
given by then. Choose wisely!
You will also learn these kind of benefits:
 Skills
In this track, there will be skills that you will be able to develop and practice.
These skills are very applicable to almost any career and you will be surprised of the
great benefits it will give you.
 Communication Skills
You will be learning how to communicate with different kinds of people. You
can't always stay in one corner and be quiet. Running a business involves
communication, but don't worry no one's going to scare you. You're eventually going to
speak up because people will be coming to you back and forth.
 Finance Skills
Accounting is part of this track. As previously said in our last post, accounting has
math, but it's basically addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Through this,
you will understand how money really works and probably be able to know how to use it
wisely by then.
 Collaboration Skills
You're not going to be alone when you have your own business. There will be
people who will be willing to help you. You also need to know how to communicate with
your co-workers and give them motivation because they're the ones who are going to be
with you in your company. You'll also be able to develop your negotiation skills as this
is one of the most important skills when you have a career.
 Analytical Skills
You need to know how to use your common sense. When you get to the real
world, there may be scams out there and you might not be noticing it. In this track, you
will be able to practice this skill because this is also related to your finance skills.
 Time Management
This is one of the greatest skills you can have, most especially once you get to
Senior High School. You need to know how to budget your time so that everything will
be simpler. All tracks will be experiencing heavy workloads, but maybe not so much for
ABM because you will be able to practice this skill when you get to this track.
Course overview
This is a flexible course allowing you to study the fundamentals of accounting
and business management with the option to then focus more deeply in either field. This
course will prepare you for a career in management accountancy, management
consultancy and business management. If you choose to specialize in business
management, you'll graduate ready for a business career with accountancy skills
alongside. Over 50% of FTSE 100 CEOs are business leaders with a finance
background such as this. You’ll study financial and management accounting alongside
the legal, business, and organizational contexts within which they operate. You’ll then
deepen your business knowledge with options to study HR, international business,
entrepreneurship, marketing and more. If you choose to specialize in accountancy, you
can graduate as a 'part qualified' accountant but with a deep appreciation of its wider
business context. You will study in line with professional practice requirements and so
maximize the number of accreditations and exemptions you will have upon graduation.
Your degree will be accredited with the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and
Wales (ICAEW), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered
Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of International
Accountants (AIA).As with business, you’ll study financial and management accounting
alongside the legal, business, and organizational contexts within which they work. You’ll
then deepen your accounting knowledge with study options, including taxation, auditing,
strategy, and contemporary issues such as social & environmental. All students will
have the chance to work on a finance or business project and enter the CIMA Global
Business Challenge and compete with undergraduates around the world. You'll also
follow your own business engagement programme which will give you first hand
participation in live accounting or business environments.

accounTIPS: Process Through Success
By: Camile Rosal

An individual cannot achieve his goals in just a snap. He should work hard first;
and it takes time after you can say that you aim your goals.

Just like doing experimentation, striving for success has also step-by-step
process. In every process, it may turn into successful otherwise it is fail. But you can't
be satisfied enough in just one try. Remember, "Try and try until you succeed". You may
hear it many times still it gives motivation and enlightenment in every individuals who
are aspiring and dreaming.

So, I think my own steps on "How will I achieve my goals?". There are 5 steps
and I hereby state it:

STEP 1: DECIDE ON YOUR SELF

You always know what you want and what will satisfy you. You may depend
your choice unto others but the decision will always be up to you.

"Follow what your mind and heart say". It may be sound romantic but it can be
also apply into decision making. It is true that follow what your heart beats and mind
says. No one can dictate on what and how you feel. You, only your self can make it and
decide.

STEP 2: ASSURE YOUR CHOICES AND DECISIONS

After you decide for yourself, make sure that you are really decided on your
choice and ready for the consequences and struggles that may come. You may ask
yourself questions to clear and made up your mind.

Always have a YES answer for these questions: "Do I make the right decision?",
"Is this what I really want?" and "Can I make it?". These questions serve as your
assurance.

But the thing that you can only do is to have an affirmation.

STEP 3: SET YOUR GOALS

One thing to become successful is to have your goals. Asking yourself, "Why am
I doing this?". This will serve as your motivation. It is important to encourage yourself
because it will be the way to put more effort and be more productive for achieving what
you want.

In setting your goals, don't mind the difficulties just think that you can do it.

STEP 4: DEDICATE IT TO YOUR SELF

It is not about what the others will think towards you but it is about dedicating
what you do for yourself. Of course, it is important that you will meet the expectation of
the people around you and you will give all your efforts for them but always think for
yourself, that it is for you not for the others. And while you are on "working" process,
always think the time that you spend, the hard work and your dreams.

After what you've done such as making your own decision, choosing what you
want and assure what you have decide. What you need next is to dedicate all your
actions for yourself even your goals because base on what I've said, you are doing this
for yourself; you are doing this because you want it and you are doing this because you
want to prove something.

Maybe "for yourself" is stated repeatedly but that's the point. Everything that you
do is for yourself. You dream for yourself. You work hard for yourself. It is not being
selfish, it is having dedication.

STEP 5: STRIVE UNTIL YOU REACH THE WORD "SUCCESS"

The final step is, whatever it may takes and whatever the result may come still
continue and walk to the path that you carve until you reach the "success". And it will
not happen if an individual will not start a move.

In order to achieve “success” each must take the risk because no one achieved
their success without difficulties and hardships.

An individual do not stop once s/he reach the goal of his/her life instead s/he
must continue and build up more aim.

HOW I CHOOSE ABM

When you are choosing something, you are dealing with a trial and errors, it is like
your taking the risk of everything, you are deciding what way or path will you go and for
me the hardest part is when you need to decide what coarse will you take. That’s why
before I choose ABM, the track that I want I’m setting my goal to allow me to take my
life direction. And setting goals for me is the hardest part and I called it, the three LDGR
or…

THE THREE LEGEND DOMAGCO GOAL RULES

   1. “Set Goals that Motivate You.”

My number one rules is to set the goal that is very important to me, so that there is a
value in achieving it.

 2.   “ Make an Action Plan.”

This rule is to make an action plan wherein, you are writing
out the individual steps and the crossing each one off as you
complete it then you’ll realize that you are making progress
towards your ultimate goal.

 3.    “Stick with it.”

This rule for me is very important, because goal setting is an ongoing Activity, all you
need to do is to keep you on track.
I CHOOSE ABM
By: Erlie B. Cabral

Why I choose ABM?

Back when I was in grade school, my dream is to be a Certified Public
Accountant (CPA). My mother once told me that "Don't dream your life, live your
dreams", I should go after my dream, no matter how unattainable others think it is. I will
make it happen to prove to everyone that I can. To make it come true, I set an
objectives to reach my goal. This is one of the reasons why I choose ABM but there are
factors/experiences that made me decide to choose ABM.

Each of us has different specializations. We have different skills, abilities and

talents that serve as our advantage in what we choose to do because we already know
that we choose to do because we already know that we excel in that way. We have
different interest/hobbies that we always enjoy to do. We have different personalities
that needs to fit the satisfaction in our chosen career. These variation of each individual
helped me to make the right choice.

Since grade school, I considered Mathematics as my favorite subject. Although,

even for me it is difficult to understand and to solve. But this subject got my interest so
hard. In fact, I always competed in Math Quiz Bees (MTAP), sometimes win, sometimes
lose. I often received special award of Best in Math every Recognition Day but not all
the time. I told you such things not to honor myself but to prove my skills.

One more thing that I want to share is my experience in doing business matters.
Back when I was 10 years old, I experienced selling stuffs like bags, toys, accessories
etc. with my mother in the market or in tiangge. Then starting high school, I experienced
selling in our own shop in the mall. I also used to buy our items together with my mother
and I experienced being a cashier in our shop. All of these are such a good experience
for me because I learned so many things and I enjoyed what I'm doing as well.

Those experiences developed my specializations that helped me to decide of

my track/field easily. Those are another reasons that leads me to choose ABM, because
it suits my skills, abilities, talents, interest, and even my personality perfectly.
It’s More Fun in ABM
By: Erlie B. Cabral

In every trials, there has a reward. After the busy schedule, exam week,
submissions of iLS (I Learn & Share), thesis and defense, we had our own kind of
relaxation. We had an ABM Day Celebration last March 21, 2017 held in STI Balagtas
Campus with a theme of Advancing Business Management.
The program started in the afternoon with an energetic masters of ceremony who
welcome all ABM students, teachers, and guests in STI. Then, the guest speaker gives
an inspirational message to motivates the ABM students to keep pursuing their dreams.
After that, the Product Commercial Challenge began wherein every section has their
chosen representatives to perform their prepared commercial. It brought a loud laugh
and energetic cheers and screams for those ABM students who watched each
performance. Then, it followed by the Marketing/Sales talking Challenge wherein each
representatives expressed their skills in a word-of-mouth marketing that gives an idea
and strategy for others. There’s also had a Mr. and Ms. ABM that made the crowd
giggled and wildly cheer for their bias. The program ended by the announcing of
winners, then by giving the souvenirs for every students. Afterwards, all ABM students
took their selfies and groupies with their business/formal attire. Then, they leave the
school event with smiles drawn on their faces.
This is just a sample of being an ABM student here in STI Balagtas Campus.
Yes, it is very stressful and exhausted sometimes but at the end of the day, it has full of
learning that we can use in our entire life. Therefore, I realize that I made the right
choice because after all, I proved that it’s more fun in ABM! 

MOTIVATION TOWARDS SUCCESS

Do you ever dream to be an entrepreneur?

Are you ready to enter the business world?

Are you willing to take risk and sacrifice?

Here's a motivational speech for you to success.

What does it mean to be an entrepreneur?

In a world of inaction, over-promising and under-delivering
Every second man seems to claim himself and entrepreneur.

An entrepreneur is someone that would never call himself an entrepreneur.

An entrepreneur is someone that is happy to work, while all others are out partying.

The entrepreneurs drug is success

He is addicted to success.
And finally the entrepreneur knows one simple fact:
“I will make it, maybe not immediately but absolutely and definitely”

You have to hustle…

You have to think outside the box…
To make things happen when it seems impossibly difficult for anything to happen.
To continue to get up off the canvas when you are beaten down relentlessly.

WIN or LEARN. I never lose!

I will succeed, not immediately but absolutely and definitely.
I will take action when others hesitate
I will think big when others don’t
I will sacrifice when others won’t
I will dare to dream of greatness when others fear it.
I will outwork my competition DAY and NIGHT.
I am the captain of my fate, the master of my soul
The boss of my dreams, the king of my goals

You have to be a leader

To be unique
To be hungry always, and never satisfied
Proud but never satisfied

To be followed by the competition

To take criticism and negativity and use it to fuel your greatness
To survive the storms and the tough moments
To be humble in the good times

It is sacrificing your TODAY for a better TOMORROW

It is living a few years of your life like others won’t so you can spend the rest of your life
like others can’t.

That sacrifice, The dedication, The commitment, the DISCIPLINE…

Only rare human beings have these qualities…
Only the very best among us.
Then there is failure…
Because we all know it is coming, it is human nature.
I mean, find me a successful human that has never failed…
You can’t, they don’t exist…

The only difference between the extremely successful among us, in any field, and the
unknown…
The only difference: The successful guy didn’t give up.
He found a way, when there seemed to be no way.
The other guy… He threw in the towel.

Failure is simply learning another way not to do something

There are great lessons in failure.

When it comes to success there is rarely ever a time when luck comes into play.
Hard Work however always comes into play.

There is no greater satisfaction in life than that of hard work paying off.
No greater satisfaction than knowing you are self made.

TAKE ACTION – When all others are sitting on their hands.

The great difference between the “somebody’s” and “nobody’s” very often only comes
down to WHO IS WILLING TO TAKE ACTION.
Who is will to put in the WORK.
The grind.
ARE YOU WILLING?

You can be proud but never satisfied. An Entrepreneur doesn't know how to
give up because an ENTREPRENEUR is addicted to SUCCESS.

Yes I am satisfied with my work. But can I strive to learn, develop my skills and help
more individuals who are inspired to become successful like myself? It has become an
obligation in my life to share the business and create leaders who are driven to succeed
in life. Mentor the leaders and teach them to reach their dream and fulfill their life’s goal.
How to become a Successful Businessman?
To become a successful business person is all in the mind.
1) Mindset – this is of paramount importance as multimillionaires and billionaires share
the same mindset. Their mindset clearly differs from the mindset of an employee. You
must first have a mindset of positivity and set continuous goals. Mindset not to quit and
stop at all cost, keep moving forward until you reach your goal just like climbing a
mountain to reach your goal.
2) Work Ethic – a business person must have great work ethic. With this they will be
able to reach their dreams by working hard.
ACCOUNTANTS ARE NOT BORING! :)
By: Erlie B. Cabral

What are the roles of an accountant?

Accountant engage in a wide variety of activities besides preparing financial

activities and recording business transactions. That's why so many people conclude
that being an accountant is so busy and boring. Now, let me tell you some reasons why
accountancy is not a boring career choice; in fact, it's positively cool.

Accountants can work when and where they want to. Accounting is essential for
all businesses that's why they have the opportunity to work in a wide range of different
business environments. You could pursue a career in an area that particularly interests
and satisfies you which guarantees you'll never be bored.

Think of the most exciting company you could hope to work for. I can tell you,
you can possibly get in if you are an accountant. To be in business means making
money, making money means accountants. So, there's a big chance that they need
you. When deciding what line of accounting to pursue, you have to think out of the box.
Imagine how exciting it is to calculate budgets, financial reporting, and the chances to
sit in on all the important meetings in your desired company and you're the one who
contributes major decisions that help to shape the company's destiny.

Every business needs an accountant. No business can remain attainable

without the tasks of an accountant being completed correctly. So, we can say that your
role is the key to the success of the business and it's definitely not boring.

Besides, it depends on you. If you really want your job then you will never get
boring. You will enjoy every single task you have to do because it's your desire and
chosen career. You should always remember that people who are successful in their
careers are usually highly motivated, simply because they like what they are doing.

Hopefully, this article will give you a fresh outlook on the career of an
accountant and the opportunities it offers. Still think that accounting is boring? :)

THE WORLD NEED ITS ACCOUNTANT

So why do we need accounting? Asking that question of an accountant is like
asking a farmer why we need rain. We need accounting because it’s the only way for
business to grow and flourish and accounting is the backbone of the business financial
world.
The world needs its accountant no matter where you live or how the economy is
doing, there is going to be a need for accountants. Through good times and bad,
accountants help companies of all sizes create strategic plans to maximize success and
limit chances of failure. Without accounting it would be very difficult for businesses to
analyze their financial performance, which would make it harder for organizations to
make smart decisions for future.

ACCOUNTANTS WILL SAVE THE WORLD

Whenever a financial transaction is processed, there’s Accounting work to be
done. These professionals help business owners better understand their financial
position so they can make plans for the future. A company’s financial standing
would greatly impact an owner’s decision to invest in a new product or service. This
proves that, when the economy grows increasingly then it needs an accountant.
REACHING SUCCESS

Everyone has all the capabilities to move forward, just not everyone sees it. And
your task is to find your own path that will lead you to the life that you want. To reach
success you need to find your calling. Something you’d really like to do. When work is a
pleasure, your soul is rejoicing, so your ability is manifested in all its glory. This is very
important if you are targeting not only the money, but also a positive, happy life. That is
my beliefs in life that if you are working without thinking the money that you’ve earn but
to work full of passion and happiness at your work is a work without the feeling that you
are working. To reach success you need to step the first steps of your life and that is
“Education”, because in life there’s no elevator towards success, you have to take the
stairs for you to be able to reach the top you need to take the first step, second step,
third step and so on.
