7 INCOTERMS RULES FOR ANY MODE OF TRANSPORT ARE : 

EXW - Ex Works (place):-

Trading is between India and Thailand

Example: - 200 Television Ex works ABC Warehouse, Bangkok, Thailand.

Responsibilities:-

Seller packs and makes goods available for pickup at his place /warehouse.

Buyer is responsible for the transportation, cost and risk from seller’s warehouse in Bangkok

Seller to provide the buyer with documentation- commercial invoice, packing list, truck bill of
loading, wood packaging certificate.

Seller may do the loading but at buyer’s cost and risk

Ex Works delivery useful when buyer wants to cut costs and when he handle shipping himself.

FCA  - Free Carrier (place)

Example: - 200 Television FCA ABC Forwarder’s Warehouse, Bangkok, Thailand.

Responsibilities:-

Case-1:- Seller delivers at seller’s premises

Seller to load in the Carrier’s Truck

Case-2:- Seller delivers at carrier’s location in Seller’s Country (terminal, transport hub,
forwarder’s warehouse)

Seller loads and transports to the location at his cost. Unloading responsibility of carrier.

Buyer is responsible for the transportation, costs and risk from forwarder’s warehouse in
Bangkok

Seller to provide the buyer with documentation- commercial invoice, packing list, truck bill of
loading, wood packaging certificate.

Recommended by ICC. A more practical term as seller anyway has to handle export
documentation.
 CPT - Carriage Paid to (place)

Example: - 200 Television CPT XYZ terminal Mumbai, India.

Seller can be used for any mode of transport(Air/sea/Road/Tranport) and upto any point of
delivery.

For ocean transport, CPT is used for containerized cargo. For Bulk cargoes CFR is used.

Seller responsible for transporting the goods to the named place but not responsible for the
insurance.

Unloading and loading at named place shall be negotiated before hand- whether seller or buyer
will be responsible.

Buyer is responsible for transportation, costs and risk from ABC terminal in Mumbai to Pune

Seller to provide the buyer with documentation- commercial invoice, packing list,wood
packaging certificate, Airway Bill/Bill of loading
