Please provide comments in regards to the student teacher's strengths and areas for improvement.

I applaud Ms. Brock for choosing to do her student teaching internship during this schoolyear- one that has been unlike any other
school year. Ms. Brock has been able to teach in both the virtual and face to face classroom setting. She has formed a great rapport
with her students, and she has been very expressive with her delivery of instruction. Her personality shines when she is teaching
students. Her delivery of instruction uses precise terminology and content vocabulary. During this lesson, she modeled counting
groups of coins and bills by grouping and sorting by value. She gives students adequate wait time, encouraging feedback, and
motivating student engagement. The students enjoyed "Dancing like Moby" when they were finished with their answer.
During small group math, Ms. Brock continued to reinforce the learning target with students. Students completed a chart to add up the
value of the coins. Ms. Brock gave students a great deal of guided practice. I would suggest considering ways to discuss
misconceptions with students and delve more into the reasons behind the wrong answers to guide students into finding their mistakes.
Often times, students learn more about a concept when they are able to see and conceptualize their incorrect thinking. Ms. Brock
used interactive tools to model counting coin values and relevant examples. I appreciated the way Ms. Brock and Mrs. Kelly interacted
through the chat featured when Mrs. Kelly asked, "What's the best way to count these (mixed up coins)?" Ms. Brock responded with
modeling grouping coins by value. She continually gave students praise and checked in with students to ensure that they were "not
hiding" on their cameras. Ms. Brock's student teaching experience has been a very unique one, and I pleased to share that she has
excelled during this assignment.
