Isaiah says there things that are problematic: I have unclean lips, I live among a people
of unclean lips, and I have seen the king. 

(Look whose really the King. The Lord God! At first he talked about Uzziah, now he talks
about God as King). 

The coal takes care of the first and last problem but Isaiah will be called to address the
second (that’s a whole series of sermons though).

V6. The initiative  is heaven’s, is God’s doing all along!! The cleansing : All this is God’s
doing! Isaiah is like a baby come out of the womb helpless!!  The live coal is a
“perpetual” fire. 

So Isaiah says there things that are problematic: I have unclean lips, I live among a

But what he doesn’t say is “you know what it’s ______” Lord can’t you just take care of
that! It’s that biased liberal media, it’s _____   Instead of blaming he owns it.

This passage tells us so much about what it’s like to not only know God, but how we
stand in relation to God and how we stand in relation to God as part of our society.
