The global development agenda is a United Nations-led process to define goals to succeed the Millennium Development Goals. It aims for prosperity, peace, and partnership between people and planet. The agenda includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals on issues like no poverty, health, education, clean water, and climate action. Technology plays a key role in economic development by establishing industry and trade, but natural and human-made hazards can negatively impact development through damage and costs. Managing these risks requires political and technical solutions like regulations, education, and infrastructure improvements to strengthen human-environment relationships.
