Kindness brings reward

Once two brothers, Peter and James, lived at the edge of the forest. Peter was the
older brother and he used to treat his younger brother, James very badly and ate
all the food and took all his good clothes. One day, the older brother went to the
forest in search of some wood to sell at the market for making a living. He came in
front of a magical tree, wandering around cutting tree stalks after trees. The tree
said to him, ‘Oh sir, please don’t cut my branch. If you leave me, I will give you
my golden fruit. The older brother agreed, but he was disappointed with the tree.
He succumbed to greed, and threatened to cut down the tree if he did not give it
more fruits. Instead the tree rained hundreds of tiny needles on the older brother.
When the sun went down on the horizon, the older brother lay on the ground in pain.

The younger brother got worried and went in search of the older brother. He saw him
with hundreds of needles dripping on his skin. He ran to his brother and, despite
the pain, lovingly picked up every needle. When it was over at all, the older
brother apologized for treating him badly and promised to be better from now on. He
thanked his brother for this implausible help, it was beyond his imagination. The
tree saw the big brother's heart change and gave them all the golden fruits they
needed.
