Semester Performance Reflection Analysis

The student reflected on their group's performance of a PowerPoint presentation on the musical Willy Wonka. They recorded a song for the presentation using a computer instead of a phone, which resulted in lower quality audio. While nerves may have impacted a live performance, recording the song allowed them to avoid potential giggling or laughter during the performance. The group's costume designs for different characters were creatively presented and showed different styles while maintaining key characteristics. The student enjoyed working with their group members and found designing the costumes engaging and confidence-building due to their interest in the topic.

End of semester Performance Reflection:

Write an analysis reflecting on your final performance. 250 word min.

For my performance/presentation, my group presented a PowerPoint on the musical Willy

Wonka. Our video recording of the song was not the best quality because we had to use a
computer instead of a phone but we still tried our best. We thought it would be best to have
recorded the song than to have given a live performance because we were afraid of getting
nervous or laughing/giggling during our performance. Although nerves could have gotten the
best of us, our performance would have been more effected if we performed the song live with
more expression and action. For our costume designs, I think our ideas were presented to the
audience well and we were able to show our creativity in the different design styles for the
costumes and the hats. I am really happy with our costume designs and I think that they each
represented a different kind of style while still having the key characteristics of the original
designs. I enjoyed working with Estelle and MaryAnne as we had lots of fun with this
assessment as we were able to create some unique designs and create a recording of the
Oompa Loompa song. I am not the most confident person but I really enjoyed the designing
process and changing the styles of the costume. I think that I have more courage and
confidence when I am more passionate/interested in something or an activity. Costume and
clothing design interests me so I believe that’s where I felt more relaxed during the
presentation. Overall I am quite happy with my performance and know that there is always
something I can try to improve on.
