1. As a future teacher, what is your role in curriculum implementation?
As a future teacher, my primary roles are planning and writing the curriculum. It is my role to write and make a yearly, monthly or daily plan of the curriculum that will serve as guide in implementing the curriculum. I will take consideration in planning the curriculum that will innovate my teaching methods and strategies based on my students’ needs to engage and sustain their interest. I will choose the activities and the methods to be utilized as well as the materials that are necessary for the activity to achieve the intended learning outcomes. I need to trust the process and need to be personally invested in the new approach. Also, I need to take part and continue the professional development that will enhance and contribute to the success of the curriculum implementation. 2. How can we improve curriculum implementation? To improve curriculum implementation, we start with preparing ourselves for future trends where teaching and learning will be influenced by competencies and innovativeness and more technology enabled teaching. There should be sustained teacher professional development training. In addition, we need to continue professional development that will enhance by simply getting ideas as many as possible that we can plug into our classroom the very next day. Professional development motivates teacher, improve their sense of efficacy, assist them in successful curriculum implementation and heightens their awareness of the need to improve teaching practices. Professional development that can allow us to apply knowledge and hone teaching practices to improve student learning is viewed the most beneficial and crucial to curriculum implementation.
