ENGL 4021 L03 MINUTES
Meeting Date: September 9th, 2020

Call to Order:
A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 L03 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce was held
remotely via Google Meets video conference on September 9th, 2020. The meeting convened at 1:32p.m.,
Professor LeCompte presiding and Lorraine Centeno Gonzalez, secretary. All students attended except:
Geremy Rivera Feliciano.

Approval of Minutes:
Minutes from September 2nd, 2020 meeting have been approved after corrections.

Matters Discussed:
1. Professor Le Compte presented a quiz about Chapter 1 from the textbook by William S.
Pfeiffer, Pocket Guide to Technical Communication, at 1:40p.m., instead of doing the free writing.

2. The students finished the quiz and returned to the video conference at 1:55p.m.

3. The professor discussed with the students the highlights of Chapter 1 of the pocket guide, such
as:
• The definition of a technical writing (along with the reason as to why people write
technical documents)
• The types of technical documents
• The Nine steps of writing

4. The professor gave the students an example of the reader’s matrix from step 4 of the Nine steps
of writing.

5. The professor announced that there is a quiz next week about Chapter 2 of the pocket guide and
that they will discuss said chapter afterwards.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 3:00p.m.
