Assessment Tool Brief Description FOR OF
Learning Learning
Throughout the unit, students will be making
entries in their unit booklet. This booklet will be
utilized primarily for formative assessment of

presented in class. Certain entries will be utilized
for summative assessment; however students
will be notified of said utilization a head of time.
On the first day of class, students will participate
in a goal setting activity (in the booklet) which

month. This activity will be utilized for
summative assessment.
Prior to the commencement of the Learning
Strategies Research Project, students will
participate in a collaborative brainstorming
activity. This will be utilized to provide

opportunity for interaction amongst peers, whilst
allowing students to explore a variety of different
thought processes and point of views prior to the
commencement of research.
Following the research period, students will

return to their groups and share information,

comparing findings and finalizing presentations.

Once students have compared findings, students


Presentation will be placed into groups with students whom
Part 2 have all researched differing learning strategies.
Students will then present to their groups.

Students will participate in a positive affirmation


Positive activity, in which they will be given a scenario
Affirmation and shared how they would response, knowing
the importance and power of self-affirmation.
In honour of Orange T-Shirt Day, students will
participate in a resilience building activity.
Self-Resilience During this time, they will reflect on their own
triumphs and detail what aspects of resilience
they utilized to overcome their experience.
A total of 2 quizzes will take place during this
unit. These will be multiple choice and matching
Quiz questions. A total of 10 questions will be asked
on each quiz, which will be utilized for
summative assessment.
