COVID-19 has enguifed almost the entire planet. With over 3,000 cases and 50 deaths in Pakistan,
stringent measures enforced by the government to curtal its spread are being rigorously followed
by MALC. People of al ages can be infected, but the elderly and those with underlying health congi-
tions are most susceptible to contracting the disease.
‘Amidst Coronavirus outbreak, daily wage earners have been adversely affected by the situation. The
‘emergency has taken a toll on their financials as they struggle to feed their families. People fear they
‘may die of hunger than Coronavirus. Over 503% f families are unable to afford two meals a day; the
percentage is likely to increase. As the number of cases advances, developing countries such as Paki-
stan, are at risk of steep economic decline
In view of the severe crises, we must all stand united and come out of these difficult times by ex-
pressing humanity. Let's continue to fight malnourishment especially among mothers & children
and Tuberculosis patients; a disease that claims over 70,000 lives in Pakistan every year, while not
forgetting People with Disabilities who remain the most vulnerableHEALTH CAMPS

‘An equal world is an enabled world. The theme
this year for International Women’s Day is ‘Each
For Equal’. MALC celebrated international Wom-
len’s Day by conducting an open discussion where
female employees were given an opportunity to
share their views about the day and the challenges
being faced by women in the society; whether itis
to obtain education or earn a livelihood, and
therefore seeking measures for improvement. The
discussion was insightful, and differed from one
‘woman to another. CEO Mr. Mervyn Lobo in his
concluding speech encouraged the women to
always maintain their confidence level and for the
future to focus on improving communication, col-
