Registered nurses who are called to work in the ER can’t have a weak stomach, they
need to be able to work under pressure and think quickly. They will indulge in
providing care, giving medicine, and monitoring patients and their health needs. RNs
need to be able to handle stress and pay attention to detail – many of the things they
do are life or death situations, so they must be able to remain calm and handle the
stress, all while thinking quickly and critically and acting upon it.
