Dear Friend:

In the midst of a public health crisis that has not been experienced in over 100 years, the Lewis County
Health System has been a beacon of strength, hope and leadership for our community. With calm
determination, the Health System developed and implemented policies and procedures to keep our
residents, patients, staff and community safe and healthy during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The community has rallied around our hospital and showed their gratitude with many donations of
snacks and dinners for our staff, and technology for our patients and residents. The Hospital
Foundation also showed appreciation for the staff on the front lines of the pandemic and purchased
Kindle Fires and iPads for the Nursing Home so that our residents could FaceTime with their families
during this difficult time.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Lewis County Health System pivoted to keep patients,
residents, staff and our community safe. They purchased critical PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
for our staff, set up health screening tables, constructed negative pressure rooms for COVID patients,
provided telemedicine services for our patients and worked to make COVID testing available for our
community.

The Lewis County Hospital Foundation was also forced to change direction because of the pandemic-
including cancelling the Gala, our signature fundraising event. Out of an abundance of caution, our
annual golf tournament and 5K were also cancelled for 2020. The cancellation of these fundraisers has
resulted in a dramatic loss of annual funds that support the Health System.

This year more than ever, the Lewis County Hospital Foundation needs your financial support. I am
