Education holds a special position in each country because it has a large impact on what

those children will grow up to know as their truth. Just like the education system itself the

educator holds a similar powerful sway over the minds of learners. When combined these two

aspects create a direct path to information however, both views are biased towards their own

beliefs. The ultimate purpose of education is to give students a launch pad which once allotted,

allows them to blast off on their unique individual journey to find their own truth.

Our young learners are the future of the world and are tasked with leaving it better for

their future children, as are we. They will inherit some of our preconceived notions that we

inherited from those who came before us but, each student will bring their own new ideas,

creativity, and solutions to problems. Education provides the platform for students to discover

their own talents and ideas which they then can bring to the world after schooling. A teacher

shares the same goal as the education system itself but because they are humans and not

textbooks and curriculum, they can provide their own unique outlook on life. It is important to

discover many different world views for each human on earth and schools as well as classrooms

grant the perfect opportunity. You spend nearly a whole year with a diverse class of students

who each have their own truth to share with others. The educator who has more life experience

also has an obligation to share theirs when it is appropriate.

Being an educator is more than just being a master of your subject especially the middle

levels and younger. However, I would argue it is vital in high school as well. I enjoy history

because you get to explore the millions of experiences already lived by those who came before

you and get to apply that knowledge to your own problems or those outside of yourself in the

present.
