Hello,
My name is Laurel Bilbo. I am a clinical instructor at the University of Arizona, College of Nursing. I
Teach the adult medical surgical content and work with students in the hospital environment. It was during one
Of these clinical rotations, that I had the pleasure of working with Brooke Murray as a student. Brooke was a
very bright student. Her GPA was 3.5 this is a difficult GPA level to maintain in a program as rigorous as ours
is. Brooke is not only bright but has great intellectual curiosity. She does not just take learned items at face
value but asks why do we do it this way? Brooke is also a very compassionate person. Brooke has many hours
of volunteer work with Camp Wildcat serving at risk youth, Habitat for Humanity, A city clean up in Tucson
and helping in the Diaper Bank of Tucson. . Brooke also gave exceptional compassionate care to a wide variety
of patients and always educated them about medications, procedures and the disease process.
Brooke was not just a task-oriented student, but took the time to connect to her patients. Brooke recognized
the importance of providing patient centered care and could see the big picture of her assigned patient’s
outcome. Brooke had a great smile and a bedside manner that put her patient’s at ease. Brooke was always very
professional with staff, faculty, patients and families and was never tardy or absent from clinical. I am Pleased
to recommend Brooke for your Internship program. This would be an investment in producing a great Future
