Application Deadline Approaches for Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest


Arkansas Traditional Scholarships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 23)- The deadline to apply for the Single Parent Scholarship
Fund of Northwest Arkansas’ traditional scholarships for the spring 2021 semester is Oct. 15.
The scholarship is for Arkansas students who are single parents seeking an associate degree,
bachelor’s degree, Master of Arts in Teaching, licensure in cosmetology or massage therapy at
approved institutions. Full-time students can receive up to $2,000 per semester and part-time
students can receive $1,000 per semester.

To be eligible, you must be a single parent living in Carroll, Madison or Washington counties.
You must be a legal resident of the United States or a resident with Deferred Action for
Childhood Arrivals status. You must also have a high school diploma or GED diploma. A full

Many schools in Arkansas are approved institutions of study for the scholarship, ranging from
larger state schools such as the University of Arkansas to smaller schools like John Brown

The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) works to empower single-parent students
on their path toward education. The fund may also be used for household expenses, day care
costs, commuting costs and more. The ASPSF can make referrals to additional services to help
with other needs and offers developmental programs to help students become job ready.
