Brief Biography of Myles Garrett

Myles Lorenz Garret was born December 29, 1995 in Arlington, Texas. Growing

up Myles was surrounded by athletes. His mother ran track in college, his older brother

played college basketball and was drafted into the NBA, and his little sister followed him

to Texas A&M where she won a track national championship.

Garrett attended Martin High School in Arlington and lettered in football,

basketball, and track. He was dominant on the football field which led to him being

classified as a 5 star recruit and the number 2 player in the country.

Once he got to the Texas A&M campus he immediately became a star, setting

the SEC conference record for sacks as a freshman with 11.5 sacks. He followed that

season up with an even more impressive sophomore campaign where he led the SEC

in sacks and was named the best defensive lineman in the country. His third and final

season in college was hampered due to injury, but he was still dominant when he was

out there.
The Cleveland Browns selected Garrett first overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. Since coming

to Cleveland, Garrett has recorded 39.5 sacks and 37 tackles for loss which have

earned him a trip to the Pro-Bowl and a spot on the All-Pro Second Team. When Garrett

is crushing opposing quarterbacks, he enjoys spending his free time reading, writing

poetry, or learning about dinosaurs. In fact, after football Garrett plans to obtain a

doctorate in Paleontology.
