Complete stitch as usual. Head: Starting at top of head with yarn A and an E Hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, and sc 6 into the ring. Pull closed. Rnd 1: Work 2 sc into each st (12 sts) Rnd 2: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next st), rep from * to end of rnd (18 sts) Rnd 3: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next 8 sts), rep from * to end of rd (20 sts) Rnds 4-6: Sc into each st. Body: Starting at bottom of Body with yarn B and an E Hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, and sc 6 into the ring. Pull closed Rnd 1: Work 2 sc into each st (12 sts) Rnd 2: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next st), rep from * to end of rnd (18 sts) Rnd 3: Sc2tog, sc in next 16 sts (17 sts) At the end of Rnd 3, join yarn C. Beginning at Rnd 4, you will alternate color at each stitch. To do this, start each stitch with a color, and at the final yarn over, pull the new color through. Repeat around, carrying both colors throughout each row. This creates a checkered pattern. Rnds 4-11: Sc into each st (repeating the alternating stitch color pattern). Join yarn D at the end of Rnd 11. Insert a stitch marker to mark your place. Stuff Body firmly. Continue stuffing as you work the last remaining rounds. Rnd 12: Sc2tog four times, 3 sc spike stitch one row below next st, sc2tog four times (11 sts) Rnd 13: Sc2tog, sc next st, se2tog, scStog, sc2tog, sc next st (6 sts) Rnd 14: Sc into each st. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Set aside. Insert dowel rod into the Head at the base, pushing in between stitches until secure. Insert other end of the rod into the neck of the Body, working it into the stuffing inside to hold securely. Use the tail from the neck to sew Head to Body. Weave in ends. Collar: With yarn B and E hook, ch 20. De into 3rd ch from hook, hdc into next ch, sc into next 14 chs, hdc in next ch, de into last ch. Fasten off and leave a long tail. Use tail and a yarn needle to sew to Body around neck. Pants: Starting at waist of pants and with yarn B and an E hook, ch 18. SI st to first chain to form a ring. Rnds 1-4: Sc into each chain (18 sts) First Leg: Rnd 5: Sc into next 9 sts, skip next 9 sts (9 sts) * This will split the pants in two, creating the first leg. Continue crocheting into only these 9 stitches of the leg Rnd 6: Sc into first st of Rnd 5 and next 8 sts (9 sts) Rnds 7-13: Sc into each st. Rnd 14: Sc2tog, sc in next 7 sts (8 sts) Rnds 15-18: Sc into each st. Work a row of sI st around into each st of Rnd 18. Join yarn D at last sl st. Shoe: Rnd 19: Sc into next 4 sts, 3 hdc into next st, sc into next 3 sts (10 sts) Rnd 20: Sc into next 5 sts, 3 hdc into next st, sc into next 4 sts (12 sts) Rnd 21: Sc into next 6 sts, 4 hdc into next st, sc into next 5 sts (15 sts) Fasten off and weave in ends. Second Leg: Rnd 5: Join yarn B at Sth st of Rnd 4 with a sc, and sc into next 8 sts around opening (9 sts) Repeat Rnds 6-21. Set aside. Bel With yarn E, work a row of sl st around top edge of Pants (18 sl st) Fasten off and weave in end ‘Sew Pants to Body and weave in ends. Stuff firmly. Shoe Sole (Make 2): With yarn E and an E hook, ch 7. Rnd 1: Sc into 2nd ch from hook and next 4 chs, (2 hde, de, 2 hdc) into next st, sc into next 5 sts, 2 sc in last st, sl st into next st. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing, Thread tail onto a yarn needle and sew Soles to Shoes, stuffing legs firmly as you go. Weave in ends. Arms (Make 2): Rnd 1: Beg at hand end of Arm with A and E hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, and sc 3 into ring. Gently, but firmly, pull tail to close ring. Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around (6 sts) Rnds 3-4: Sc in each sc around Rnd 5: Make bobble in next st, sc into next 5 sts (6 sts) Change to yarn B at the end of Rnd 5. Work one row of si st around Rnd 5 Rnd 6: Sc in each st. (6 sts) Join yarn C at the end of Rnd 6. Alternate B and C throughout the rest of the Arm, creating a checkered pattern for the Arm (as in Body). Rnds 7-15: Sc into each st. Fasten off and leave a long tail. Arms don't need to be stuffed. Set aside. Cut a length of wire approximately 8" long. Bend one end into a loop small enough to run into the Arm. Insert the loop into the top of the Arm and thread all the way down into the hand end. Insert the other end of the wire into the Jacket and Body at the shoulder area as shown, and out through the other side. Bend the tip of the wire into a 5 loop and insert into the top of the second Arm. Stitch Arms to Body with matching yarn and a yarn needle, fully encompassing the wire. Weave in ends. Hair: The Hair is a crocheted hair cap that fits over the head. Rnd 1: With yarn F and E hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, sc 6 into ring. Pull tail to close ring (6 sts) Rnd 2: 2 Sc into each st (12 sts) Rnd 3: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next st), rep from * to end of md (18 sts) Rnd 4: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next 8 sts), rep from * to end of md (20 sts) Rnds 5-7: Sc into each st. Fasten off and leave a long tail. Fit Hair over Head, positioning it tilted back on the Head. Stitch into place with a yarn needle and the yarn tail Thread a yarn needle with sport weight dark brown yarn. Stitch across the entire front and sides of the head with long diagonal stitches until the desired look is achieved. Ear (Make 2): With yarn A and an E hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, sc 3 into ring. Pull tail to close ring. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Thread the yarn tail into a yarn needle and position ear onto head, overlapping hair cap and the head, lining up with the eyes on the side of the head. Refer to photo for placement. Weave in ends. Finishing: Referring to photo, use black embroidery floss to stitch a smile using short straight stitches. Use white embroidery floss and make three stitches across each shoe for shoelaces. Using a cotton swab or your pinky finger, apply a bit of pink blush to cheeks, rubbing in tiny circles. Print the attached Belt buckle onto plain paper, resizing if necessary (size as pictured is the exact size | used). Print again onto special inkjet printable iron on paper. Trim as close as possible to the black outline. Cut a piece of white felt the exact size and sew to middle of Belt on doll. Follow package instructions to iron on the symbol to the felt. Avoid pressing hard on the felt, as too much heat will flatten and eventually melt the felt, so use as little pressure and heat as possible to get the pattern to fully apply.
