Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

Before I attend UNLV, NSC, or UNR to obtain a bachelor's degree in Special Education,

I must pass the Praxis Core Exam. The scores needed to pass are as follows: Math 150, Reading

156, and Writing 162.

Exam Preparation

Unfortunately, I did not prepare for the Practice Praxis Exam. However, while reading

about it and looking at a few easy questions, I assumed the test would be as well. I believed I

learned what I needed to know during my time here at CSN. Not realizing how much

information will be lost, I continually set aside studying to focus more on classwork and only

studied a few days before taking it.

Exam Results

My results for Reading is 63%, and in Writing, I received a 60%. Improvement is needed

in both subjects to have a better chance of passing the Praxis Core. Lastly, I scored 50% in Math

and need significant improvement to pass the Official Praxis Core Exam.

Future Exam Preparation

3

Fortunately, I have another chance to redeem myself by taking the Praxis Core at a later

date. I realize, to retain information, a constant review of the class material is a necessity.

Therefore, I will continue to study throughout the next semester and pay close attention to my

timeline. This will help me retain what I have learned, reduce stress, and will allow me to be

prepared for upcoming assessments. If necessary, I will work with a tutor, take the Praxis Core

Review at CSN, or sign up for an online program to successfully pass the Praxis.
