Prayer for Married People

Heavenly Father, You, who are all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present. We praise you
for your love and faithfulness.  Forgive us for putting ourselves as well as our desires
and plans for the future before You. Forgive us for the times we lose our temper towards
our spouse. We thank you for the gift of marriage and the blessings we have received.
We are grateful for our spouse and all their wonderful qualities. Father, help us to be
good listeners who are sensitive to each other’s needs. Help us to let go of hatred and
soften our hearts so that we may choose love at all times. Teach us to love the way that
we should, with patience and kindness, forgiveness and grace. Bind us together in unity
and may our devotion in marriage be a reflection of your love for us. In Jesus’ name, we
pray. Amen.

Prayer for those looking for the Right Man or Woman to Marry
Heavenly Father, You, who are all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present. We praise you
for your love and faithfulness. You are the perfect matchmaker. I come before you today
to ask you to help all the single men and women looking for a life partner. Forgive them
if they had doubted your plans for them and became impatient while waiting for the right
pair. Thank you for your wisdom and will to answer their prayers. I ask that you will
grant grace and mercy to all single women and men who have a desire for marriage. I
pray that you continue to give them patience as they wait for the right spouse. Help
them to seek for a pair who has fear in the Lord. May you grant them the desires of their
hearts. I am confident that you will provide them with a partner in Your perfect time.
Your will be done, O, Lord. All these I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
